About EHCPlog
EHCPlog is a simple daily diary for parents and carers of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in England. It helps you keep dated, factual records of your child's day and turn them into an evidence pack for EHCP requests, annual reviews and school meetings.
Why EHCPlog exists
When you ask for support, councils and schools want evidence of what happens day to day, with dates and detail. Most parents keep that evidence in their heads, on scraps of paper or scattered across their phone, and pull it together the night before a deadline. EHCPlog makes it a 30-second habit instead, so the evidence is already there when you need it.
What EHCPlog does
- A quick daily diary: tags, a difficulty rating and a short note.
- A contact log for calls, emails and meetings with school and the council.
- EHCP deadline tracking with email reminders.
- Letters filled in from your diary, which you can edit and send yourself.
- A dated evidence pack PDF to share when you choose.
It is free for one child, with no time limit. The optional Family plan adds clean evidence packs for any date range and unlimited children. See pricing.
What EHCPlog does not do
EHCPlog keeps the records you enter. It does not diagnose, assess or predict outcomes, and it is not legal or medical advice. We cannot promise that any record will lead to an assessment or a plan. For free, independent advice, contact IPSEA or your local SENDIASS service.
How we write our guides
- Guides are written in plain English for parents, by the EHCPlog team.
- Legal points are checked against the Children and Families Act 2014, the SEND Regulations 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice, and each guide lists its sources and the date it was last reviewed.
- We describe the usual timescales and rules in England and say clearly when exceptions apply.
- We do not publish made-up reviews, testimonials or statistics. Where we quote a figure, we link to where it came from.
- If you spot something wrong or out of date, email hello@ehcplog.co.uk and we will check and correct it.
